Been really busy and on the road for the last few months…

WatchSony announces development of new interchangeable lens camcorder. not much info on it yet but here’s the mockup video. Pretty cool, but not an EX-35 which is what i’m really dying to see from these guys…

So due to my being out of town for the Alexa unveiling at the DGA, my friend Mark Read, good friend of ARRI, sent me the following text message after the event.

Headed to Vegas at the end of the week for NAB. Should be some really interesting products and announcements…I plan on doing some heavy blogging on this site including photos and video of whatever uber cool gadgets/people/things we run into so stay tuned.

Not happy about mauro fiore winning. Avatar looked amazing and that type of “cinematography” deserves a lot of credit indeed but it’s about time to separate virtual cinematography from standard photography the same way animated films don’t (usually) compete with live action. Bob Richardson and Christian Berger did some gorgeous work, but avatar I felt took it simply...

Canon 5D mkII to get 24P on March 16th *official*
London, 2nd March 2010 – Canon today pre-announces the release of a firmware update for the multiple award-winning EOS 5D Mark II. Originally announced in late 2009, the update adds 24* and 25 frames per second (fps) recording to the camera’s EOS MOVIE video function, and will be available as a free download from the middle of March.
